The City Mission Finances
The
City Mission's financial year runs from October 1 through September
30. Our books are kept and our financial statements are prepared
in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
and are audited annually by an independent Certified Public Accounting
firm.
The
City Mission strives to maintain the highest standards regarding
our financial integrity, openness and accountability. The City Mission
does not solicit or accept any funds from federal, state or local
governments; instead we rely solely on contributions from the private
sector. Our Board of Trustees authorizes a budget each year that
balances income with expenses. Because of this and other conservative
fiscal policies, our overhead is kept to a minimum and over 80%
of your financial gifts go towards programs and services that directly
benefit the people we serve.
